As Michael Singer points out in his book “The Untethered Soul”, the question of “Who am I?” is a difficult one to answer. Neither are my credentials who I am, nor is my journey of life that led me here. Who I truly am is a music-loving, dance-loving, life-loving human who wants to share this journey of life with people who love it just as much.
But to give a little background… my journey began as a competitive figure skater, where movement and music shaped much of my life. For 12 years, I skated at a national level, and while the physical aspect was important, it wasn’t just about perfecting routines—it was about expressing myself through movement. That love for moving to the rhythm of music led me to yoga when I was introduced to it as a way to stay flexible. Little did I know, it would change my life.
Yoga quickly became more than just physical— it became a spiritual practice, a way for me to reconnect with myself and find a sense of freedom. As I deepened my practice, I discovered a powerful connection between breath, movement, and music. One of the most significant influences on my life has been The Grateful Dead. From singing “Ripple” with my dad at age two to running half marathons to “Althea” on repeat, their music has always sparked something in me. Later, I found deep resonance in their live shows and the sense of freedom and release they inspired. All of these experiences—the flow of yoga, the catharsis of movement, and the soul-deep connection to music—shaped who I am today, and therefore, shaped the method of Feel Trip.
